this man, this man i have to listen to on the radio ... far, far too often. Jim Rome:
radio is full to the brim with annoying, jackhammeringly egotistical wastes of space, but Jim Rome takes this to some confusing and terrible new level. He's not even the most irritating or the most self-important walking penis on the radio, although trying to determine something like that makes my head hurt. Maybe its just that i'm exposed to this guy more than any other idiot on AM radio, but this man still stands out. He's the most popular sports radio personality in the country, yet his shows always remind me that it is just inherently wrong and evil to give one person free reign to talk. and talk. and talk. for hours on end, alone. its impossible to find transcripts, i'm sure, because no one who likes him enough to do that would go through the self-inflicted shame of actually transcribing this man's stuttering repetition of stupid phrases. but if you were to find it, it would probably go like this (this is actually real, kind of, well... really based on my memory):
"He shot his leg. He didn't get another shot. He GOT shot.
He didn't get a shot of rum. Heeee got shot.
He didn't ..."

and this goes on for about three of the longest minutes of your life, then he has a dramatic pause [awkward silence]. other radio personalities have this too. overlong silences for -- for what? for you to mull over what this great mind is vomiting into your brain, of course!
